Officescan 10 Login Problem
After an upgrade to Trend Micro Officescan 10, you may find that you can’t log into the web console. It prompts for a username and password. It hints that Active Directory users should log in as domainusername.
The key piece of missing information is that no domain account is actually valid. The correct username is root. Use this along with your previous password and you can log in.
Once you have logged in, you will be able to set up Active Directory users with login permissions. This is done under Administration.
Thank you!!! Finally a solution that finally did the trick. Spent time on rabbit trails………THANKS AGAIN!!!
Excellent, vital piece of information! Thanks!
Thanks!!! Save my time!!!
Very nice trick, thank you so much.
Would sure have been nice if Trend bothered to tell you that during the install process…
Thanks saved my time.
Nice one. Is this documented anywhere on Trend’s site?
So simple… Shame Trend didn’t think to say!
Incredible, why on earth would you need to know that your previous login would not work? How could they not let us know this vital piece of info?
Thanks much! This has been driving me nuts!
spot on!! I was about to get very angry….
a lot of thanks.
Yeah buddy! You da man!
wow… one would think that this would have been noted SOMEWHERE… but alas… 45 minutes of attempting various logon accounts, uninstalling / reinstalling, password resets (maybe I typed in in wrong… twice?!?)
AMAZING INFO!!!! Your seriously saved my ass with this one! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You’re a champion. Who would have thought that a prompt for domainusername would actually be a root username!?!?!
Maybe you better write the help files !!
Crap trend, at least bother to add this info in the support docs.
but very much a thank for this ROOT user name info.
why didn’t i think of that. hahah
Thank you for this!
Irresponsible of them not to mention this little detail in the upgrade docs.
Thanks for posting this information, while I’m familiar with Unix I wouldn’t have thought to try “root” as the username. Luckily your solution was the first page I saw when I searched Google.
Unbelievable!!! THANK YOU!!
this is a good info..thnx 4 ur post..
Hi Team, Thanks for the solution – it is beyond belief that TREND could not have put it in the upgrade notes!
THANK YOU!!! What a pain in the @$$
Cheers dude .. That is so misleading and you save me loads of time .. top man 🙂
finally i can’t solve my problem thats y i am already in main domain….!!!!!!!!!!!!
The previous admin left, no documentation to the username or password. Any tricks to reset?
Man, your answer was a Godsend!
tried so many domain admin user accounts on a new server install, until remembered previous versions were root and login. Seriously about to smash the sh!t outta my laptop until searched for similar issue. glad to see wasn’t alone. haha
